What is an Extended Deep Plane Facelift?
In contrast to superficial lifting techniques, which only tighten the skin, the Extended Deep Plane Facelift works below the SMAS layer (Superficial Musculo-Aponeurotic System) – the network of muscles, connective tissue and fat compartments that shapes our facial features.
This layer is loosened as a whole, mobilized and repositioned – especially in the cheeks, jawline and neck.
The extended technique also extends access to deeper regions (e.g. to the nasolabial area and into the depths of the midface), which enables particularly long-lasting, volume-preserving and expression-friendly results.
Dr. Philipp Mayr uses a tissue-conserving, anatomically safe preparation technique that preserves natural facial expressions and a stable contour, even in the long term.
